Tar Sands Development Raises Growing Concern on Water Use

The cost of oil to survival may be more than the world can afford to pay.  When you read the following article, keep in mind that the US EPA and CDC have determined that children are more vulnerable to injury and sickness from environmental contaminants that adults.   Levels of pollutants that are considered "safe" by the US, Canada, and other countries are determined by the effects on a mature, health male worker.  As yet, no country has determined levels safe for children, pregnant women, or other vulnerable populations.

But another serious issue is coming to the fore — the massive amounts of freshwater being used by the industry. In 2011, companies mining the tar sands siphoned approximately 370 million cubic meters of water from the Athabasca River alone, which was heated or converted into steam to separate the viscous oil, or bitumen, from sand formations. That quantity exceeds the amount of water that the city of Toronto, with a population 2.8 million people, uses annually.

Malloy Vetoes First Bill Of 2013; Would Have Required Regulations And Safety/Certification Standards For Spray Foam Insulation

Malloy Vetoes First Bill Of 2013; Would Have Required Regulations And Safety/Certification Standards For Spray Foam Insulation

Connecticut governor Dan Malloy’s veto of HB 5908, which would have required the state to establish standards for the spray polyurethane foam insulation industry, is an overt act of cowardice, masked by his concern for public health. By vetoing HB 5908 Governor Malloy opted for "voluntary" regulation of the SPF chemical industry, in other words, no regulation.  Voluntary regulation resulted in severe and permanent injury to more than two dozen children at the school where I was teaching.

I was seriously and permanently injured by Spray Foam Insulation when a non-trained applicator spray these chemicals on the school where I had been teaching. I was an award winning athlete and teacher until spray foam chemicals left me and more than two dozen children and teachers fighting to breathe and in a life and death struggle.

Spray foam insulation (SPF)was proven to have caused my severe asthma, resulted in surgical removal of almost all my sinus tissue, scarred my lungs, burned my eyes, causing early onset cataracts, and permanently damaged my brain and peripheral nerves. The Spray Foam industry never disputed my injuries.

Had the governor of Mississippi passed a similar bill, I and the children at my school would not have been injured by Spray Foam insulation. The next injury from SPF in Ct will leave the fingerprints of Governor Dan Malloy. http://www.toxicjustice.com

Please comment on the article linked below if you are angered by Governor Dan Malloy's veto and refusal to protect consumers and child health from untrained, greedy, and negligent SPF applicators.  Commenting is easy and has been demonstrated to affect government policy.  Please share this post.

Gov. Dan. Malloy vetoed his first bill of 2013 on Monday, saying rather than have the state develop regulations and safety standards for spray foam insulation in homes, he would encourage installers to “obtain training, credentialing or certification under programs … developed on a national basis.”
House Bill 5908, “An Act Concerning Safety and Certification Standards for the Spray Foam Insulation Industry,” sailed through both the House and Senate without any “no” votes or controversy; the House voted 145-0 on April 24, and the Senate 34-0 on May 30. . .Read more: http://courantblogs.com/capitol-watch/malloy-vetoes-first-bill-of-2013-would-have-required-regulations-and-safetycertification-standards-for-spray-foam-insulation/#comment-129615

My former attorney Paul Minor (currently in prison) has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn his sentence in a Mississippi judicial corruption case.

Using the comment section at the end of the Sun Herald article, ask that the Sun Herald publish the deleted comment that I had submitted for publication below this article.  The Sun Herald knows my comment to be true, because they also have copies of the audio tapes and documents submitted to the FBI.
— Imprisoned former attorney Paul Minor has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn his sentence in a Mississippi judicial corruption case.
Minor is appealing a decision by the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last August that upheld the sentences of Minor and former judges Wes Teel and John Whitfield. Prosecutors said Minor backed loans for the judges in exchange for favorable court rulings. Read more: http://www.sunherald.com/2013/01/02/4383532/minor-files-appeal-with-us-supreme.html

Paul Minor is my former attorney of fifteen years and former judge John Whitfield sat on my case during the time they engaged in bribery and the time period covered by their corruption convictions by a jury.  I have audio tape recordings of Paul Minor and former judge John Whitfield during conferences during the time covered by the corruption convictions which resulted in the sentencing now on appeal.  I was a party in taped conferences in which Minor explained how bribes were used to influence the judge in my case.  I recorded former judge John Whitfield's in his own courtroom explaining that he had been influenced.  I turned the tapes, transcripts and documents into the Mississippi Attorney General and Dept of Justice as evidence against Minor and Whitfield.
If Minor is successful in his appeal, no person or business in the US will be safe from becoming a victim of public and court corruption. No person will be safe from attorneys who sell their clients and their cases to the highest bidder.
